She asked to start weekly riding lessons!
For Cate's 7th birthday, her friend Vera gave her a pony lesson at the Pony Patch. They had their lesson together. Cate loved riding Clicker.
Cate loved hanging out at the ranch!
These are tiny baby pigeons...not to cute!
We let the sheep go to the field to eat, and then learned how to herd them back to their corral.
This little guy was just 3 days old. In just a couple more days, Dr. Woody said he would be too fast to catch!
We spend the afternoon at Dr. Woody's pistachio farm. Cate enjoyed holding and feeding Gandhi G - his hawk.
Cate enjoyed watching her sister dance in the spring show.
To end our tour, we went back to the El Paso Art Museum and enjoyed looking at the sculptures, portrait paintings, and works of Diego Rivera.
At the museum, we learned about the history of El Paso.
We were entertained by a puppeteer at the El Paso History Museum.
Zulli and Cate!
Cate's class took a field trip to El Paso. 1st stop, the El Paso Art Museum where they were entertained by Celloist Zulli Bailey. He began playing the Cello at age 4.
Mom was very protective of her baby - and even bit Cate when she got too close!
This horse had a baby...and we wanted to see him!

Cate had no use for money this year. She left a note for the Easter Bunny and made sure he brought what she really loved...CANDY!
The Easter bunny joined in the fun at the hunt!

Cate, Caroline and Lilah found LOTS of eggs at Picacho Hill's Easter Egg hunt.

Cate's class had a field trip to Mesilla. We visited J Paul Taylor's home, which will eventually become a museum. We also visit the Basilica of San Albino which is located on the plaza. Afterwards everyone played in the park and had lunch.

Cate and Madison had a fantastic time at the fair that came to town! Madison's mom said they rode almost ALL of the rides!

Cate really enjoyed the ride. We saw lots of beautiful cacti - and luckily no wild animals!

Before heading home, we enjoyed a horseback ride through the Saguaro National Forest. Cate's horses name was Raisen.

Outside, we admired the colorful rock, created from the minerals in the soil in various parts of Arizona.

Outside, sculptures were made from children's hands, about the same age as Cate, to collect water from the rain to feed the plants.

We were able to see inside their ocean - made from water they moved from the Pacific Ocean to the Biosphere.

Cate listened patiently to our tour guide, and had questions to ask at each stop.

Inside the Biosphere were 4 different environments - where the University of Tucson performed experiments. In the 1990s, 8 people lived at the Biosphere for 2 years straight. They made all of their own food, and studied the effects of living their during that time. They stopped the experiment early because they were not able to take in enough calories.

We toured a museum of miniatures, as well as the Biosphere.

The Westin resort had a great water slide, and several pools for swimming.

Nana came for a visit, and the girls took a trip to Tucson. We played with our new underwater camera!
